THE VALHIL STORY
Valhil Inc. was initially formed as a Texas corporation by Jimmy’s mother – Virginia – in 1980 to act as a special purpose entity for family investments in producing oil and gas properties in and around Texas.
“Val” was borrowed from Jimmy’s family name – Vallee – and “Hil” was borrowed from Virginia’s maiden name – Hill.
After Jimmy began practicing law in Houston, Jimmy and Virginia began to invest together in real estate properties in the Beaumont, Texas area, and Valhil Inc. was re-constituted to serve as the special purpose entity to hold such real estate investments, which investment business evolved over time into the Texas licensed brokerage firm – Valhil Reality & Co. – in 2017.
Jimmy would go on to form Valhil Capital in early 2005 to (i) provide M&A and corporate advisory services to middle market businesses in Southeast Texas, and (ii) hold passive investments in companies operating in a variety of industries, including oil and gas midstream, oilfield equipment manufacturing, renewables, commodities trading, concrete services, fitness/yoga, media and others.
Following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Jimmy elected to retire from his corporate/securities law practice in Houston and devote his professional time to growing the Valhil Capital investment portfolio.
Jimmy was joined by his partners Scott Minett (President) and Mark Bauer (Chief Operating Officer) and the trio re-branded the Firm with more contemporary “space-themed” imagery as an acknowledgement of their new focus on blockchain, space, and advanced technologies and health.
THE SPACE NINJA
THROUGH THE BLACK HOLE
The Space Ninja is an allegory that represents the journey upon which Valhil Capital has embarked.
As the Valhil principals developed their investment thesis and began to target opportunities, they became acutely aware of the increasingly crushing amounts of indebtedness flooding into the global economy, which they believe to be unsustainable.
Their convictions are that the global economic system has commenced into a “death spiral” or black hole of indebtedness, where the gravity pulling us in will only increase over time and eventually pull everything into – and through – it.
Emerging out of the other side in a renewed (albeit yet unknown), asset-backed economy. This is effectively symbolic of humanity’s return to the gold standard.
With this overarching theme influencing their investment analysis and thesis, the Valhil principals decided they would metaphorically become the FIRST to go into the black hole, and “report back” on what lies on the other side – hence the “Space Ninja” was born!
The Space Ninja accepted the mission to travel directly into the massive gravitational force of the global economic implosion.
We see him captured as he victoriously emerges in the asset-backed world – changed in physical and economic substance into a being of PURE LIQUIDITY!
